Here's a beautiful promise:
Psalms 32:7
"You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance."
Selah
When I was a little girl growing up hearing my father preach, he once devoted every Wednesday Night Bible Study to the book of Psalms.
One Psalm, every Wednesday.
Of course, he split Psalms 119 into sections.
I don't know how long this took for him to
"Preach his way through the Psalms"
But I do remember enjoying these sermons.
My father gave me his sermon books on Psalms
a few months before he passed away.
They now sit in my library and I love to open them up and read them and picture my dad studying for hours over the sermons he wrote.
Selah.
I remember my father explaining the meaning of this word
found so frequently in the book of Psalms.
He simply said, "Think on that."
Oh, I've heard other explanations of the word,
but I still like the one I learned from my father.
Today's a perfect day to pick up our Bibles
and find a portion of scripture to read
and simply,
"Think on that."
Enjoy your Sunday!

Psalm 91:4
"He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler."
What exactly is a "buckler?"
According to the Easton Bible Dictionary,
a buckler is a large shield protecting the whole body.
Please pray for my mom.
I rushed her to the hospital yesterday with a very high heart rate of 190.
After a few hours they were able to lower her heart rate to normal.
She will be in the ICU for a few days until
all is stable.
Enjoy your Sunday!

This book of sermon notes from your dad is such a treasure. My husband's dad was a pastor, too, and, when he passed, my husband got his sermon notes. Right now they are all loose, stored in a box, but we started putting them together in a scrapbook, so they can be easily looked at and reread. What a priceless treasure!
