Add the potatoes and carrots to a large mixing bowl.
Add 1 tablespoon of oil and half of the spices. Mix to fully coat.
Add the half chicken and use the remaining oil and spices to coat.
Let both the vegetables and chicken sit for 5 minutes until the air fryer is preheated.
Add the vegetables to the basket of the air fryer first and then place the chicken on top with the breast-side down.
Cook for 15 minutes and then flip the chicken over and continue cooking for an additional 15 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°.

If you want the cooking time to be faster, parboil the potatoes and carrots before adding them to the air fryer:Carrots: Place the carrots in a saucepan with water to cover. Bring the water to a boil and allow them to cook for 3 minutes. Then drain. Potatoes: Place the potatoes in a saucepan with water to cover. Bring the water to a boil and allow them to cook for about 5 minutes. Then drain.
