Prepare a 9X13 baking pan by lining the bottom with a piece of parchment paper or waxed paper. Spray a little non-stick cooking spray on the bottom to get the parchment paper to stick.
Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
As soon as the butter is melted, add the marshmallows and stir constantly until the marshmallows have melted.
Remove the saucepan from heat and add the cereal.
Stir until the cereal is coated in the marshmallows.
Using a buttered spatula, add the cereal mixture to the prepared pan.
Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Follow the directions listed above making sure you don't overheat them. If the melted chocolate is too thick, you can add a teaspon or two of vegetable shortening to thin it out. Do not add water.
Spread the melted chocolate over ⅔ of the Rice Krispie Treat.
Add the candy eyes, red candy nose and pretzel ears.
Allow the Reindeer Treats to dry completely before serving.
