Ingredients

For the Brownie Mix:

  • 1 cup baking cocoa powder
  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 cups sugar
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • ¾ tablespoon baking powder

To Prepare the Brownies:

  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

To Make the Brownie Mix:

  • Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix for 5 minutes.
  • This ensures that the mix is completely blended.
  • Store in airtight jars or use right away.

To Make Homemade Brownies with the Mix:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the brownie mix from the mason jar, eggs, water and vanilla.
  • Mix until batter is smooth.
  • Spray 9 x 9 baking pan with oil and add batter.
  • Cook for 18-22 minutes.

Notes

  • Make sure you use a mason jar funnel to help you get the ingredients into the mason jar without making a huge mess.
  • This recipe makes 8 cups of dry brownie mix—enough to fill four 32 ounce mason jars
  • Each jar holds approximately 2 ¼ cups of mix, which is the amount needed to make one batch of brownies. So with this recipe, you’ll get approximately 4 jars total.
