Place the cheddar cheese on a board and cut out 4 stars. The leftovers can be used for pizza. Form snowflakes from a slice of white cheese. Use a cookie cutter.
Cut half a pickle into 4 pieces for the tree trunks. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
First, pierce one half of the pickle with a skewer. Fold the salami in half. Pierce the salami 1/10 inch from the edge. Pierce the other salami in a mirror image. You now have the lower branches of the tree.
The next tier should have slightly shorter branches. Leave a ⅕-inch margin from the edge. Simply roll up the next two salamis and prick the center. Fold the last salami in quarters and thread it onto a skewer. Finish the appetizer with a cheddar star.
Arrange the trees on a serving board and garnish with tree branches and white cheese snowflakes. You can also drizzle with balsamic glaze or sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese for a brighter flavor.

Notes
Tips
Use thinly sliced salami so it folds easily and keeps its shape on the skewer.
Cut the cheese stars from firm cheese like cheddar or Colby Jack for the best results.
Place the pickle “tree trunks” flat on the platter to help the trees stand upright.
Storage & Make Ahead
Assemble the salami trees a few hours in advance, cover tightly, and refrigerate until serving.
Add the cheese stars just before serving to keep them firm and bright.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
