4 large croissants torn into bite sized pieces
6 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
½ cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Stir in the cheese and cooked breakfast sausage.
Spread croissant pieces evenly in the dish.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants, then press gently so all the pieces are soaked.
Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden.
Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Tips

Use day-old croissants if possible so they absorb the egg mixture without becoming too soft.
Cook and drain the sausage well before adding it to the casserole.
Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes after baking so it sets and slices more easily.

Cover and refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days.
Reheat individual servings in the microwave or warm the casserole in the oven.
You can also assemble it the night before, cover, refrigerate, and bake the next morning.
