Made with Oreo cookies, cream cheese, colorful candy melts and fun sprinkles, these Halloween Monster Cookies are made to look like little monsters with candy eyes!
Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. You can use a food processor or crush them with a rolling pin in a zip top bag.
Add the cream cheese and Oreo cookie crumbs to a large bowl, and stir well to combine.
Line a tray or baking sheet with parchment paper, and roll the mixture into 1 inch balls.
Transfer the tray to the freezer for 1 hour.
Melt the candy melts in individual bowls at 30 second intervals in the microwave. Stir between each heating session until fully melted.
Dip the balls into the melted candy, and immediately add a candy eye to the side, the sprinkles to the top. Set on parchment paper to set up. Repeat until all the balls are coated and decorated.
Allow the candy to set, then enjoy!
Notes
Make sure the cream cheese is softened so it incorporates into the cookie crumbs well.
Freeze the Oreo balls before dipping in chocolate so they keep their shape. Don't skip freezing or you'll have a mess when you go to dip them.
Work quickly and add the decorations right after dipping them before the candy melts have a chance to set up.
