Instructions
How to Prepare the Pudding:
In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and the milk.
Gently fold in the container of Cool Whip and place in the refrigerator while you prepare the puff pastry hearts.
How to Prepare the Puff Pastry Hearts:
Unroll the pastry and lay flat. You may need to use your rolling pin to flatten out the pastry and remove the fold lines.
Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out shapes and place on a baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper.
Bake the puff pastry hearts in a preheated 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove the puff pastry hearts to cool completely on a cooling rack.
How to Put the Dessert Together:
Once the puff pastry hearts have been cooled, gently slice them open using a serrated or sharp knife.
Spoon the pudding mixture into the bottom half of the puff pastry hearts and then place the other half of the heart back on top.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar or cocoa powder if desired.
Notes
Please note that the amount of puff pastry hearts you get with this recipe depends on the size cookie cutter you use.
