Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl until creamy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually beat in flour mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by rounded tablespoon onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
Place the baking sheet into the fridge to chill for 30 minutes.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
Immediately place two candy eyes onto each cookie. Then press a red candy in the center for the nose. Press two pretzel twists towards the top of the cookies for the antlers.
Notes
Make sure you chill the dough before baking. Chilling firms up the butter in the dough, which helps prevent the cookies from spreading too thin during baking.This is especially important for these cookies, as you want them to hold their shape and the decorations to stay put.
