Combine dry ingredients in large bowl and set aside.
Place the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and melt it in 15 - 30 second intervals until it is completely melted.
Then add in the peanut butter and brown sugar. Continue heating in the microwave in 15 second intervals to heat up the peanut butter long enough to make mixing easier.
Pour wet ingredients over dry and mix thoroughly.
Spread evenly on large cookie sheet with edge. Bake for 15 minutes.
Stir granola, then bake for another 15 minutes.
Stir granola once more and cook for 15 more minutes (for a total of 45 minutes).
Let cool completely and store in an airtight container.

You can stir in chocolate chips after the granola has cooled.
