Instructions
In a saucepan, bring the 8 cups of water to a boil and remove from heat.
Add the tea bags and cover the saucepan to allow the tea bags to steep.
All the tea to come to room temperature and then remove the tea bags from the water.
Fill a pitcher about ⅓ with ice.
Add the tea to the pitcher.
Add the chopped peaches, ginger and honey.
Taste for sweetness and add more honey if necessary.
Chill the tea for at least 2 hours before serving.
Serve over ice with peach slices and sprigs of fresh mint as a garnish if desired.
Notes
Use Fresh, Cold Water:
Always start with cold, filtered water for the cleanest, freshest flavor.
Steep Carefully:
Over-steeping can make tea bitter. Follow the recommended time—usually 5–7 minutes for black tea.
Don’t Skip the Chill Time:
Let the tea cool to room temperature before refrigerating to prevent cloudiness.
Sweeten While Warm:
If adding sweeteners like sugar or honey, stir them in while the tea is still warm so they dissolve fully.
Serve Over Ice:
Use plenty of ice when serving and try freezing some tea in ice cube trays to avoid watering it down.
Store Properly:
Keep iced tea in a covered container in the fridge and enjoy within 3–5 days for the best flavor.
