Instructions
How to Make Simple Syrup
Add the water and sugar to a small saucepan.
Bring it to a boil over high heat.
Reduce and simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes or until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Removed the water/sugar mixture from heat.
Allow the mixture to sit for about an hour to cool.
Then pour the simple syrup into a mason jar.
Place the jar in the refrigerator for another hour or even overnight to completely cool.
How to Prepare the Strawberry Infused Water
Add the strawberries and mint to a glass jar.
Using a
muddler
or the back of a spoon, mash the strawberries and the mint leaves together.
Pour the mandarin orange juice into the glass followed by the lime juice and the simple syrup.
Finally add the seltzer water.
Mix well.
Serve immediately.
Notes
You can substitute the lime juice for lemon juice if you prefer.
Store the extra simple syrup in a jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
For this recipe I used plain seltzer water, but you can use lime flavored.
