Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Open the can of crescent rolls, but do not separate them.
Place them on a piece of parchment paper.
Press the dough together to form one big rectangle.
You can use a pastry dough roller or even a rolling pin to help you. Sprinkle a little flour on top if you find the rolling pin sticking to the dough.
Spread the pizza sauce down the center only of the dough.
Add the mozzarella cheese followed by the diced green peppers.
Now add the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.
Finally add the sliced pepperoni.
Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into strips on both sides of the toppings.
Fold the slices of crescent roll dough over the middle forming a braid.
Brush the braid with the beaten egg.
Sprinkle the top with a little extra Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.
Gently lift up the edges of the parchment paper and place either on top of a baking tray.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 - 12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
Cut into slices and serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side.
