Ingredients

  • Pizza crust dough either homemade or store bought
  • 1 cup pizza or marinara sauce
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • Assorted pizza toppings such as pepperoni green and red peppers

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • On a large floured surface, roll out the pizza dough until thin.
  • Use desired cookie cutters to cut out shapes with the dough.
  • Arrange the shapes 1 to 2 inches apart on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.
  • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over each pizza.
  • Add the cheese and toppings to the pizzas.
  • Bake until the dough is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly; about 5 - 7 minutes.

Notes

  • You can prepare the cookie cutter pizza ahead of time by putting the pizzas together, cover lightly with plastic wrap and then placing the tray in the refrigerator until you're ready to bake them.
  • These mini pizza appetizers work great all year round and would be really cute for a child's birthday party using animal or flower shaped cookie cutters.
