Mini Pizza Appetizers
Do you have any fun parties planned over the holidays? These Mini Pizza Appetizers would be perfect to serve as a first course. I think you’re going to love them as much as my guests did recently for a cookie exchange party I hosted at my house.
They were a big hit and I think they would be perfect for any type of party you are having over the holiday season; even if it’s just to serve for your own family for movie night.
We have a yearly tradition of watching a Christmas movie during the holidays. Mini Pizza Appetizers would be fun to make along with a few other snacks to serve while watching a favorite Christmas movie. Our family tradition is to watch Christmas with the Kranks.

Mini Pizza Appetizers Ingredients
- Pizza crust dough, either homemade or store bought. You can get the recipe I use for Homemade Pizza Dough HERE.
- Jar of pizza or marinara sauce
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese
- Assorted pizza topping such as pepperoni, green and red peppers
On a large floured surface, roll out the pizza dough until thin and then use desired cookie cutters to cut out shapes with the dough. Oh and don’t mind the red and white twine on a few of my cookie cutters. These hang on the little Christmas tree I keep in the kitchen.
Try to place the cookie cutters close enough together on the pizza dough so you don’t waste too much of the dough. You can easily roll out the scraps again to cut more shapes.
How to Add the Sauce, Cheese and Toppings
Arrange the shapes 1 to 2 inches apart on a baking sheet that has been lined with baking parchment sheets.
Feel free to add your favorite toppings to the mini pizza appetizers. This tray has chopped green peppers on top.
Bake the pizza in a hot preheated 425 degree oven until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Your family and friends are going to love them.
Tips for Making Mini Pizza Appetizers
- You can prepare the mini pizza appetizers ahead of time by putting the pizzas together, cover lightly with plastic wrap and then placing the tray in the refrigerator until you’re ready to bake them.
- These mini pizza appetizers work great all year round and would be really cute for a child’s birthday party using animal or flower shaped cookie cutters.
