Today I want to share with you some photos from Family Weekend at Liberty University. My husband and I were so happy to be able to make the six hour drive two weeks ago down to Lynchburg, Virginia and see our son who is a freshman this year. We love Liberty University and we love that our son is attending there. We dropped him off in August and when we found out about Family Weekend, my husband quickly made hotel arrangements for us to return in September. Hotels fill up quickly but we were happy to get a room at The Hampton Inn which is just up the road from our son's dorm room.
We stopped along the way at one of the scenic overlooks. It was so pretty...
Our son found us on campus...
It wouldn't be Family Weekend without a little goody bag...
Michael took us on a tour of the campus. We didn't have too much time in August
to see everything as we were busy unpacking and shopping.
Here we are sitting in the empty football stadium.
The team was just beginning practice...
Walking around campus. We had beautiful weather...
One of the buildings our son has classes...
Our son is majoring in political science...
This wall was amazing. There's a photo of all the Presidents of the United States
and their favorite quote about the Bible...
My hubby and son in front of Ronald Regan...
Ronald Regan's quote...
We spent some time in the library while Michael did some
school work Friday evening. There's a really nice balcony where we sat and watched
the sun set. The "bubble" building is the Vine Center. There was a
concert going on also that night...
Inside the library...
Inside the Vine Center.
They also have convocation there 3 times a week and other sports events...
We ate lunch in the cafeteria.
The food is really good!
The most important thing about the weekend was the football game.
Here we are all wearing our RED Liberty shirts...
These are photos from Liberty University's FB page of the game. It was AMAZING...
There were three men who landed in the stadium that night after the
marching band performed...
The crowd was amazing...
These are the students. I had so much fun watching them on the jumbo screen. I think I spent more time watching them than the actual game. Our son sat with us for some of the game on the other side of the field and then he would join his friends in the bleachers...
Yes, this happened also...
The next day we went to church with Michael.
It was a great sermon...
Then it was time to say goodbye.
I miss our son but am so happy he's enjoying college life.
Oh and he'll be home next week for Fall break.

What a nice weekend. Hard stage when we have to start letting go. I had one graduate this year. She is a nurse, one is in college and a high school senior. Lots of letting go around here.
