Today while you are all reading this post,
I am at the hospital, in the waiting room,
while my mom is having open heart surgery.
And the Colonel is on a plane going to Wisconsin to
work for the Army until late Sunday evening.
work for the Army until late Sunday evening.
The surgery is two-fold:
to replace her aorta valve and to stop the atrial fibrillation
that has been attacking her heart since last October.
I would appreciate your prayers for my mom.
A friend of mine, Maria, shared this on Facebook on Sunday
and it meant so much to me I thought I would share it with all of you today;
for I know our family is not alone in dealing with stressful times.
Eccl. 3:14
I know that, whosoever God doeth, it shall be for ever:
nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it:
and God doeth it, that men should bear before him.
For the Spirit of the Lord would say to you:
You may not know or understand all that is going on in your life right now,
but I have given you an eternal perspective to look beyond
the routines of life that seek to bring you down.
The cycles of life are ordained in my order says the Lord, for they are around you.
Let faith rise to meet the challenges you are facing, says the Lord.
Eph. 3:20:
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding
abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us.
May the Lord be with each of you today!
I will post an update here tomorrow or you can follow
I will updating Facebook all day for family and friends.
Thank you!

Thank you, Lois, for sharing that with us. What good scriptures to remind us that God is, indeed, in control, even when our world seems to be falling apart. I will be praying for your mom and for you. I know how difficult it is to be the kid who is there, watching and waiting.

Lois,
So sorry to hear your Mom is going through something like this. I wish her good health and I will pray for her.
Make sure you take care of yourself during all this because she might need you to help her out after the surgery.

Lois,
I wondered what you were doing up so early and now I know why. You and your family will be in my prayers. I stayed up all night with my Dad the day he had a triple bypass. My Mother had stayed with him in Pittsburgh for nearly three days straight and my sister and I convinced her to go home and rest and that I would stay with him to make sure everything was all right.
I understand your white knuckled tense state and will keep positive thoughts.
Maureen
P.S. I don't marinated either my chicken or my beef when cooking on the grill.
