"The military is an excellent way to keep the
stupid members of society off the streets.
He will be gone for a year, but if he is injured or killed he will be home sooner."
The above quote is what someone commented about my last post.
The post where I was talking about the Colonel leaving in a few weeks.
To go to Afghanistan.
To fight for our freedom.
Below is what the Colonel had to say:
"You may one day realize the value of those who man the wall on your behalf.
But first you will have to move out of your mother's house."
I think that says it all.
Oh, the name of this person's blog is called
"The Crap Blog Detective."
I guess he needs to start with his own blog.

I have to say that my jaw hit the floor and my agner reached the boiling over point when I read what was left on your blog! I had to reread what was said a few times before I realized that someone actually left a comment like that, as I was sure I was reading it wrong and someone could not be that cold hearted!!! I am so sorry! That is so mean and completely disrespectful!!! Your husband and all the others like him do a brave and wonderful thing for us all. I am so very thankful for the men and women like him, for the sacrafices they make. My heart goes out to you, I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you to have to say good bye for a year. You guys will be in prayers!!!

As a military Mom I can't understand why some people say things that are so hurtful. God bless your husband as he heads off to Afganastan.

Lois,
You know what? It took me several days to formulate a response to this in my brain. I am just disgusted and disturbed by this.
I am thankful that a faceless, anonymous fool has the freedom to say something so idiotic and ridiculous--but only because they have a soldier to thank for that freedom!
Thank the Colonel for me. I will be praying for him and all of your family as you go through this time. May God bless and keep all of you close in His hands.
