On Saturday The Colonel, his brother and wife and our son Michael
all got in the car and made the over 2 hour drive to
Gettysburg, PA.
I was doing what every other Italian mom was doing the
DAY BEFORE EASTER...
I was staying home to COOK!
So the best I can do is share pictures from the
camera the Colonel took with him on the trip.
The Colonel said Gettysburg was WONDERFUL.
However, you need more than one day to explore the
many exhibits, museums and sites of the battlefield.
The battle of Gettysburg was fought on July 1-3, 1863.
The battle resulted in the largest number of casualties in the
American Civil War and is often described as the war's turning point.

Not to forget the Pasta Fagioli soup for dinner for the weary HUNGRY history fans...

Gettysburg is a fascinating place and one of my favorites. We plan to be there again in July of 2013, the 150th anniv. We live 2 days away, rather than 2 hours. 🙂 I always enjoy seeing photos of Gettysburg. Stopping in to say hi to you. My computer probably won't be up and running for another week. Gettysburg looks like such an interesting place to visit. I would have loved to have lasagna for Easter dinner! Just might be on my menu for next year!

Well, you were a very busy girl while they were gone, and I bet they were happy you stayed home after all these delectable treats waiting for them.
