The Colonel was released from the hospital late yesterday afternoon.
BUT...
He still has to be seen by the doctors at Ft. Dix.
AND...
They were closed by the time we left the hospital.
SO...
It was back to the hotel last night.
He'll be seen by the Ft. Dix doctors this morning and they will authorize his medical leave
and we will head home as soon as we can!
There is good news!
He doesn't need the wound vac anymore. The wound is closing on its own.
He had the PICC IV line removed yesterday!
No more IV antibiotics.
We have a few prescriptions to fill and he'll be on some sort of medication for a few weeks, but that's so much better than IV antibiotics.
I'm grateful to the Lord for working in this situation.
The Lord never promised that we would never experience hard or difficult times.
He never promised that we would never face illness or surgery.
BUT,
He did promise that He would be with us
and help us and comfort us.
And this is what He has done in our lives this past week.
I will forever give thanks to the Lord for always being faithful to me.

Been thinking about you and hubby. Glad to hear there is some good news. Praying for a full recovery, and soon. My DH had a terrible, awful cellulitis infection in his leg several years ago. In fact, it was about the time we were going thru infertility testing. And, the trauma of it all ultimately led us to not pursue having another child. (btw, I do believe if *that* were truly meant to happen, it would have anyway!) So I know somewhat the things and worries you've been going through. It was a scary time! And they never did figure out how he acquired the infection... Blessings, Tammy
