This is how I feel about the laundry situation in my house.
You know that wonderful feeling you get when all the laundry is done, folded, put away and then you're putting the towels away in the linen closet and you look down into the hamper...oh no, where did all that come from???
But lately, I've been trying to handle this situation or my feelings about laundry differently. I've come to the realization that my kids are not going to be around too much longer. There will come a day when my laundry reduces greatly in size.
I still feel as if our laundry, like the mail, "keeps coming and coming and coming" but my attitude has changed and I know that there will come a day when my children are going to be out of the house on their own and I won't have that much laundry to do...

Laundry and dishes.....dishes and laundry. Especially when I couldn't run either of the corresponding appliances while waiting for the plumber earlier this week.
Hope you are having a good week☺

Ironic, isn't it? The man who invented the washing machine has done more to liberate women than Betty Friedan, Gloria Steinam, and 40 years of modern feminism.

I try to do one to two loads a day, usually in the morning, and later in the evening put them away...What I've been lead to do alot of times now is as I am folding everyone's clothes, I thank God for a washer, a dryer and the amount of clothes He has blessed my family. I actually hold their clothes close to my face and inhale the sweet fragrance of clean clothes. I am reminded that one day I won't be doing this, that their clothes won't be here in this home. I also thank God that I am loving my family as I do the wash. No more martyr, murmuring or complaining like the old woman I was..I also thank God for my health to be able to do the laundry...Out of the week, I may have one day where there is no laundry, but the very next day I will definitely have three loads,,LOL.

Yeah, I have that problem too...but I've been only doing laundry on Weds, Thurs, and Fridays now....so what if the hammper is full....I can't be doing laundry every day of the week.

I love to do laundry! Just strange, I guess. I have a big ol' clothesline and where I live, it's dry within minutes of hanging it up. So it's a lot easier here than many places.

Lois~ Hilarious video! You have it figured out exactly! Eventually the amount of laundry does go down. And you look around and your kids are gone too. It's a good thing (because that is why you are raising them) and a sad thing at the same time.
As our kids each reached 7th grade I taught them to do their own laundry- I would "move it along" if I needed the machines, but they were responsible for their own.
It's funny- my daughter is worse about doing her laundry-the boys all did well:)
My daughters-in-law have all come and thanked me because their husbands help them with the laundry. (That was a sweet moment each time:)
(One of them thanked me because her husband puts the seat down!;)
Great post -- so true:)

I personally think our dirty laundry grows while it is waiting to be washed. When did we have the time to dirty all those clothes and then I have to question when was the last time I did laundry???? By the looks of the dirty heap laying there in the laundry room, I must never do laundry. Last time I checked there were 4 of us living in our home. Someone else has to be coming in when we aren't home and throwing our clean clothes down the laundry chute!!! What other explenation is there!!!
I must admit that very soon I am afraid our laundry will be no one elses other than mine and my hubbys and that will make me sad.
I shudder at the thought of being an empty nester!
Blessings,
AMY

i feel the same way about laundry. it never stops. I love the smell of fresh laundry. I'm hoping that I can put up a clothes line this summer so I can hang dry my linens.
I think there maybe a village ordinance against it.
I would have so much fun sharing a cup of coffee with you 🙂
