There are several types of tools that fall into the category of scrapers. 
They can be made of metal, plastics such as polyethylene, nylon, or polypropylene, wood, rubber or silicone rubber.
The one that I prefer using is made of metal.

My husband gave me this for Christmas a few years ago and I love it. 
I've been wanting one for awhile and I really do use it almost daily...
