Okay, I need your help here.
What do YOU call this?
Growing up in Queens, NY we called them
GUARD RAILS.
Since I've moved to PA, I've noticed that they're referred to
as GUIDE rails.
I cannot bring myself to calling them guide rails.
At least I'm grateful we have them.
I would have a HUGE problem traveling this road.
As you can see there is NOTHING to keep you from falling
off the road and down the cliff.
Please leave a comment and let me know what they're called where you live!

Sharon says
We call them guard rails here in NE.
I hope that is not a road that you have to go on very often, especially in the winter or rainy season.
I would find a new route real quickly. So scarrrrry!!!!

Guard rails here too in NJ.
A Hint of Home says
I don't think I could travel that road, although years ago I drove up Pike's Peak in the Rockies with no "Guardrails". That's what I call them.
