Today is a special day.
25 years ago TODAY the Colonel and I were married.
It seems hard to believe it's been that long since the Colonel
still makes me feel like a teenager...
My father had the following picture on his desk all these years.
It's one of my favorites because it shows the excitement
on my face as I'm just about the see my Colonel waiting
for me at the altar...
It's the third year in a ROW my Colonel and I are apart
on our anniversary, but I know he's thinking of me.
He already sent me a text and I know he'll call me when his day slows down.
No big party, no fancy celebration, that's not us.
We hope to get away in July for a day or two to celebrate and just
enjoy being together; something that's hard when you're married to a Colonel.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Such a beautiful passage of scripture to remember a special day
I share with my Colonel, my love, my life...always.

I remember the moments just before your dad took your arm to walk you down the aisle. Many bride's look scared or as they're about to pass out. But as the picture shows, you were excited and smiling from ear to ear.
