Decorating the Mantel for Christmas

Do you have a fireplace in your home? We do and one of the best things about it is decorating the mantel for Christmas. There are so many different ways you can add decorations to the mantel for Christmas!

I'm sharing with you today a few different ideas for us to all to find inspiration to help decorate our homes. Even if you don't have a fireplace, you can still create a mantel type of display which is exactly what I did for years in our first house.

Decorating the Mantel in Our Home

This is how our mantel has looked in our house for the past few years. I have used our collection of Department 56 lighted houses and really love how it looked.

And then I placed an old window on our mantel over the summer and my husband drilled the window into the stud above the fireplace as it was very heavy and he didn't want it to fall. But now it doesn't come down very easily. So I had to incorporate the window into our Christmas decorations and there is no room any longer for the village.

But that's okay! I have another collection that I have been displaying in our dining room on the sideboard. I moved our Christmas Carolers to the living room and the Department 56 Christmas Village to the dining room. I love the way our fireplace and mantel turned out this year.
