What are 5 tips to making a charcuterie board?
- Balance and Variety: Try to mix different flavors, textures, and colors on your board. Use a variety of cured meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, spreads, and other items to create a diverse and tasty experience.
- Presentation: Start by putting big things like cheeses and bowls of spreads on the board. Then, add smaller things like meats, crackers, and fruits to fill in the gaps. Make it interesting by mixing up shapes, colors, and textures.
- Pairing Complements: Match salty meats with sweet fruits, creamy cheeses with tangy spreads, and crisp crackers with soft cheeses. This elevates the overall flavor experience for your guests.
- Consider Dietary Restrictions: Take into account any dietary limitations or preferences of your guests. Offer a selection of vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options to ensure inclusivity and enjoyment for all.
- Temperature Control: Keep an eye on the temperature of your ingredients. Let meats and cheeses warm up to room temperature so they taste better. Use chilled dishes or bowls filled with ice to keep things like cheeses and spreads fresh during your event.

Easter Charcuterie Board
Ingredients
- ½ pound ham
- ½ pound salami
- ½ pound prosciutto
- ½ pound provolone
- 4 ounce brie cheese
- 3 Babybel cheese
- 1 goat cheese
- ½ pound asparagus blanched
- 1 cup grapes
- 1 cup carrots
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
- 1 cup nuts
- 1 cup cucumber sliced
- ½ cup olives
- 1 cup apricots dried
- 6 deviled eggs
- ¼ cup whole grain mustard
- 4 rosemary sprigs
Instructions
- To make roses: Slice the meats and/or cheeses in half. Lay the slices flat and slightly overlap them. Roll the sheet tightly from one end to create a central bud. Then, arrange additional slices around the bud, gradually forming layers to resemble rose petals. Secure the layers with toothpicks as needed. Finally, shape and fluff the petals to achieve a more realistic rose appearance.
- Place the Brie in the middle. On the brie round, place one round of Babybel. Prop the other two rounds of Babybel at the bottom of the round of brie.
- Cut and shape the goat cheese into two ears. Place the ears at the top the brie.
- Arrange the remaining ingredients in a balanced manner across the board to resemble a garden. Fill in any empty spaces with rosemary sprigs.
