Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary!
Twenty two years ago I made the best decision in my life
and became, the Colonel's wife.
Although he was only a 2nd Lieutenant at the time!
This is how we looked 22 years ago, with my parents. This is the only picture I have on my computer of our wedding. This was taken at the church I grew up in, the one my father pastored for 31 years in Queens, NY.
I am wearing my mother's wedding gown, although we had to have a new veil made.
You can't see it in the picture, but it was a beautiful tiara!
This picture does not show how beautiful the gown was.
Actually, the photographer kept scrunching the gown together the whole day!
I loved everything about the dress and the veil. The only alterations that were done to the gown were shortening the sleeves since my parents were married in November.
October 2007...right before The Colonel left for Iraq...
Christmas 2008 at the Hotel Bethlehem...
I love the life we have created. The Colonel is my best friend and I love him dearly.
I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life by his side.
He has made me so happy and I can't wait to see what comes next!
Happy Anniversary Colonel!
I love you!

Your stinky house story on my blog was great! Sometimes kids are the only ones brave enough to say what everyone else is thinking... :0)

Thanks for visiting! I write in German and Italian sometimes for those who are in Europe. I wanted to say that your wedding gown was just beautiful! The new photo from 2008 looks great~honestly both of you really take good care of yourselves because you both look great! I guess the Colonel has to stay in good shape being in the military. You both look so happy in the photo's. Your children are so cute in the photo! God bless you both, Rose

Morning Sunshine, and a Happy Happy Anniversary to you and the colonel. Loved the Wedding picture.... you were a vision of loveliness, and colonel was so cute. that is so neat you were able to wear your Mom's Wedding gown, how precious is that, and that your dad is a Pastor, and I am assuming he married you??
May the Lord continue to bless you and your family abundantly. It takes a special woman to be the wife of a serviceman. Bless you for the fact you love your life
with all that entails. Hope you both have a Wonderful time Celebrating today.
Blessings, Nellie
P.S. and we heard from our son
again yesterday, he hiked in the rain and was wet and cold evidently. Today is suppose to be
clear, more rain tonight, he is almost halfway to his next stopping point for a night where he gets his first package. He is about 11.6 miles behind schedule so we are praying he makes good time today, cause their is more rain ahead we think. But we haven't been worried. Praise to to
Jesus, and thanks to all you dear ones who are praying for us too.
Have a sweet day, Nellie

Happy Anniversary Lois and to the Colonel as well. Your pictures are so great, you were a beautiful bride, and what a lovely couple you are. The picture of your parents with you both is so awesome! and that gown, wow. I can see and hear the love and respect you have for the colonel! May you both have many years of happiness, you truly have a beautiful family, I know the main reason is that you have put God in the center, and that you both are setting that example for your children just like your parents have done for you both!
Hugs,
Sue
