Pasta Week on Walking on Sunshine
    begins today!

    Fettuccine Noodles with Butter...

It all began last Mother's Day when my Colonel gave me this...

    This comes with the pasta roller, to make pasta sheets and two types of pasta cutters;
a spaghetti cutter and a fettuccine cutter...

I always wanted to try making my own pasta and now I could.

    Pasta Dough Ingredients:

    2 ¾ cups flour
    3 eggs
    1 Tablespoon olive oil
    1 teaspoon salt
    ¼ cup water

Mix the first four ingredients together and then add the water.
Once the dough has come together, let your mixer knead the dough for five minutes.
Let the dough rest for 30 minutes before beginning to roll out the sheets.

Cut the dough into smaller, more manageable pieces...

Starting on the lowest setting, feed the piece of pasta dough into your roller...

Continue feeding the pasta dough into the roller, increasing the
    number setting on the side...

    PERFECT...

Lay your pasta sheets on a baking tray lined with wax or parchment paper
and sprinkled with flour or semolina flour...

Now, put the fettuccine attachment onto the mixer and begin to
feed the pasta sheet into the top...

You will get a lot of pasta...

Lay the pasta flat on sheets of parchment or wax paper
until you are ready to COOK...

Bring a large pot of water to boil and add your pasta noodles...

Drain and toss with some butter and parsley...

    Delicious...

You can also DRY your pasta to use at a later date.

I tried this one time but it didn't really work.
The pasta kept breaking off of the hangars...

This is what I did right before Christmas.
I laid all the pasta out on a clean sheet on top of our dinning room table
    and it worked PERFECTLY.

This is TWO recipes of pasta dough...

After the pasta has completely dried, I placed them in
cellophane bags along with a jar of my canned tomatoes to give as gifts for Christmas...

Come back tomorrow for another family favorite,

    Chicken Fettuccine...

    Enjoy your day!

I don't have enough room here to make noodles, but I am sure that yours are delish and so fresh tasting. Your gift recipients must have been thrilled!

Lois, thank you for this! Your pasta looks lovely and delish 😉 I have mulled over getting this attachment for the K.A. for the past few years.. and it was confusing to me as to which pieces and parts I would need. You just helped me out.. may make this my goal to purchase before Nov/T-giving 🙂 Love the idea of your homemade gifts also... how perfect! Have a great week! -Tammy

Impressive! You are quite industrious. I'm afraid I don't have the patience! So, it will always be store bought for me! 🙂
