Yes, I'm still here! It's been quite a few days since I've posted and life has been pretty busy. I just haven't had time to sit down at my computer to put together a post. To be more honest, my mind has been blank...can't seem to come up with anything to write about!
Our weekend was pretty busy. It was my mother's birthday on Sunday so we went into New York on Saturday to celebrate at my brother's house. First we went to the cemetery and placed a pot of pansies at my dad's grave. They look so pretty! We had a great time, but when we got home I still couldn't think of anything to write about.
Sunday was church and we took my mom out to dinner at a nice restaurant. The Youth Group was in charge of the evening service. Olivia played her bass which sounded really good. And then she gave her short sermon...the one she gave at Fine Arts a few weeks ago and will give next week at the District level.
She was so good. She spoke on how we shouldn't be like the Israelites who wanted a earthly king...we shouldn't make other things our gods, etc. I was very impressed with her.
Yesterday I invited some ladies from church over to surprise my mom with another little party. That was so nice. I set the table really pretty, used my good china and crystal. Made quiche, salad with chicken and stuffed tomatoes. For dessert I made my delicious fruit tart.
I would love to share pictures of EVERYTHING with you but unfortunately I did something so out of the ordinary for me. I used my new tablecloth and napkins yesterday. After everyone left, I wanted to put everything in the washer to get them clean and ready to use again for Easter Sunday.
About 30 minutes later, I'm looking all over for my camera. I wanted to download the pictures and put a post together to share the past few days. WELL...guess where I found my camera?

Sounds like something I would do. Go buy another one!

Oh no. I hope when it dries out the camera will miraculously work. How awful.

So sorry about your camera...when Nat dropped her phone in the pool my dad took out the batteries and memory card and put in an 100 degree oven for a bit...didn't work, but it was worth a try.

Oh My Goodness!! I'm so sorry about your camera. Happy Birthday to your Mom.
We are only 3 hrs. away from Mrytle Beach.
It will be so nice to get projects done at home. I know how that goes.

Lois when I finally plugged myself in yesterday I could not believe that there were no post from you for me to read. I always look forward to what you have to say. So glad to see you back.
I have had you in my prayers lately. I know it has been hard for you because of the anniversary of your dad death.
I am sure your mother was thrilled with her birthday party. It sounded like a lot of fun.
I hate you washed your camera but there is hope. A couple of years ago my camera got wet. It never worked again but after about a week my memory card worked. I was just glad to get my pictures. I hope to see your pictures soon. Especially of Olivia playing and giving her short sermon.

I missed your posts!
I wish I could've come to your party. That sounds yummy and fun! I guess your ladies' tea party ended up being "good clean fun" after the camera incident. What a bummer!
I hope everything dries out and miraculously works!

Hi Lois, hope that you are able to salvage the pictures from your camera. Things like that are such a pain. Your party for your Mum sounds lovely - you can drop into County Armagh anytime you like and make that quiche!! I'll get the eggs from Rod's dad at the farm and off we go!

Lois, you are such a sweet and loving daughter! I can imagine in my mind the beauty of your table and the delicious food at the party for your Mom. Happy Birthday to her from me:)
I am praying that everything can be retrieved from your camera and that it will work fine again! In Psalms it says that God "inclines his ear toward us" to hear our needs--He leans down to hear our needs! What an awesome Father we have:)
And your daughter- you must be "bustin' your buttons" with pride and gratitude! I think that church youth groups that are close and "real" pull our kids through the teen years to the other side of being a young adult leaning on Christ. That is a powerful subject for a sermon. I know that it blessed many hearts.
I can tell that you are such a good mom! Just how you write about your kids:)
Blessings and Hugs to you,Lois,

Oh no! I can so appreciate this, as I've washed all sorts of things that weren't intended to be washed:-(
I'm glad you were able to have such a lovely dinner for your mother's bday.
Perhaps once the camera and card dry out, they will function. Have you googled a possible fix for them?

Welcome back!! Missed you gal!!
Give your Mom a birthday hug from me!! I know it was probably difficult for her without your Dad there...well for all of you. I'm so glad to hear you had a good time anyway.
I am so sorry about your camera. We thought we had lost all of our pictures on the computer last year, and it just killed me. Fortunately we were able to retrieve them.
You can get a little card reading thingy to attach to your computer and may be able to upload those pics, so your Mom's birthday memories aren't lost.
Olivia sounds like such an awesome young lady!! I am proud of her, too!! I worked with youth for years at church...middle and high school...and young people like her are quite rare! You have done an excellent job, Lois. I know you are a pleasing aroma to God!!
I'll pray about your camera and pics!! God is able, and cares about all that concerns us!!
Hugs and joy sweet friend,
Becky
