Thanksgiving Recap 2011

A week ago today I was cooking up a storm!

Getting ready for the BIG day…

Thanksgiving!

Today,
I’d like to share with you a few pictures of
Thanksgiving Day here at our house.

My centerpiece made from a “hollowed” out pumpkin
and a few bunches of flowers…
The table…
Close-up of the table.
Can you see the place cards…
Our family…
The guest of honor…

The buffet was set up in the kitchen.
This made it so easy for me…
A close-up of the buffet table.
I label EVERYTHING so I know where things go in the craziness
of getting the food out…
After dinner, we worked on decorating
Gingerbread Houses that the Colonel
put together the day before…
Yes, I covered my pretty tablecloth with a plastic one first…
My mom and Michael…
Even grownups had fun decorating!
The Colonel’s sister and her husband…

My nephew Davey…
The completed houses.
Yes, one house collapsed…
Time for dessert…
Finished washing dishes…

Something sweet to take home.
Recipe coming on FRIDAY…

My sister, mom and me…

The Colonel and me…

My kids…

Thank you Lord for a beautiful day,
 fun time with family
and for everything YOU have given to me.

Everything looked just wonderful! Such a pretty table. And quite the crowd too! I REALLY like your buffet line idea. Were their warmers under the dishes, or just the holders…either way, how perfect is this! And a gift to bring home? I LOVE it…OH! and I love the gingerbread houses idea too. How fun. My grands would have loved that.

First of all I am shocked at what a big family dinner you had. I had no idea.

What I am not shocked about was how wonderful it was. You put on a great dinner. Even had gifts to take home.

I'm not surprised. You did a great job!

    Love,
