This week's Quick Tip Thursday is all about tomatoes.  Every year we plant tomatoes in our garden. I love homegrown tomatoes.  One day last week I went out to our garden and a few of our tomato plants were so heavy from the growing tomatoes that the branches were lying on the ground in the dirt.  I went to my potting shed and grabbed my container of pantyhose...yes pantyhose and began tying the plants to the tomato cages my husband built a few years ago...

Here are the cages my husband made a few years ago.  We plant the tomato plants in the middle of each cage and they grow up nicely inside.  However, the branches do need to be secured as they become heavy as the tomatoes grow...

Cut up a pair of pantyhose into strips and gently secure the tomato branches to the wooden frames.  As the tomatoes continue to grow, the pantyhose "stretches" with them and doesn't break like rope or string will.  The tomato branches won't break off either.

Here is just ONE gathering of tomatoes from last year...
