A different type of "Thankful List."

    I am thankful for:
The mess to clean up after a party because it
means I have been surrounded by friends.
The taxes I pay because it means that I'm employed, well the Colonel is!
My shadow who watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.
The spot I find at the far end of the parking lot
because it means I am capable of walking.
All the complaining I hear about our government
because it means we have freedom of speech.
That lady behind me in church who sings off key because it means I can hear.
The piles of laundry and ironing because it means my loved ones are nearby
(I just wish they could use a towel more than once!)
My huge heating bill because it means that I am warm.
(Although the kids would disagree.  They always want the thermostat raised)
Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day
because it means that I have been productive.
    My Favorite...
The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours
because it means that I am alive!
Let's all take a few moments to remind ourselves that we can always find something to be thankful for, not just now during Thanksgiving, but all year long!
    Enjoy!

When I complain about being so busy...go here go there, etc.
Scot says..."At least we are not bored. We have lots of family and friends that keep us busy!" He's right...so are you. Happy day dear friend!

Hi Sunshine! This is so wonderful and is something I consider often. Even though I dislike paying bills, I always thank the Lord that we have the money to pay them, and I apply this truth to my daughters as well in many different ways. It really does improve my attitude! Thanks so much for sharing this reminder.

May God pour out His richest blessings on your family this Thanksgiving and fill your heart with joy and peace, my sweet friend.
      Love and hugs!

What a great post, thanks for sharing it this morning. It really does give one something to think about.
That towel one was so true, we went through lots of towels when the boys were in their teen yrs.
      Have a very blessed Thanksgiving.

I LOVED this...in fact read it aloud to my husband who is sitting here beside me having his morning cup of coffee. And I told him, THIS is why I blog. And it couldn't be more true. Have a wonderful day. And many more blessings to you, Debbie

That's lovely and so true! Had to laugh when I read about using the towel more than once, my son sometimes takes 2 showers in one day and uses a clean towel for each one, LOL!!!!!

What a wonderful way to list your blessings, but you ARE employed, Lois, in the service of the Lord as well as all the things you do that would cost so much if the Colonel had to pay someone.

May you and yours have a heart warming and joyful Thanksgiving.

      blessings and hugs,

      marcy
