Appetizers are a lot of fun to make for any type of gathering. Food tastes better when it's small for some reason. Maybe it's because we think we can eat more of it when it's smaller!

Make Ahead Appetizers
- Most puff pastry appetizers can not be baked too far in advance of your celebration.
- You can, however, prep ahead the appetizers and have them in the refrigerator on baking trays covered with plastic wrap.
- This way they're ready to be baked just a few minutes before everyone arrives or when the doorbell rings.
- A few of the Italian Puff Pastry Appetizers can be prepared ahead of time and frozen. Pull them out of the freezer the morning of your event and place on baking trays lined with parchment paper. Store them in the refrigerator until you're ready to bake and serve.
Appetizer Serving Tips
- Depending on the number of attendees, determine the appropriate amount of appetizers. Three appetizers will suffice for smaller gatherings. If you're hosting a party with more than ten people, up the quantity of appetizers to five.
- Make an effort to include a variety of vegetables, breads, and proteins for your first course.
- Italians love cheese. How do I know? Because I'm Italian. A lovely display of meats and cheeses on a wooden cutting board can serve as protein.
- Vegetables can be accompanied by a dip.
