This peppermint brownie mix in a jar is easy, festive and makes the most amazing homemade brownies with a slight hint of peppermint thanks to the crush candy canes.

How to Make the Peppermint Brownies
To make the brownies, you need to add the following ingredients to the dry mix from the mason jar:
- 2 sticks of melted butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs and vanilla until smooth.
Stir in the brownie mix contents from the jar until everything is combined.
How to Bake the Peppermint Brownies
Add the brownie batter to a baking dish that’s been lined with parchment paper. You can also just spray the bottom of a pan with non-stick cooking spray. Smooth the brownie batter to make sure it’s an even later.
Then bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 18 to 25 minutes or until the center is set. You’ll know the brownies are done when a knife inserted into the middle of the pan comes out clean.
Allow the brownies to cool in the baking pan for about 15 minutes before gently lifting up the parchment paper and transferring the brownies to a cooling rack to cool completely before slicing.
It helps to slice the brownies with either a serrated knife or a plastic knife to get clean edges.
How Far Ahead can I Prepare this Brownie Mix?
You should try to put together the brownie mix at least a few days before you want to give them as gifts. The brownies should be made within 2 weeks of everything being sealed in the jars. That way you’re sure the ingredients are still fresh.
