I love my garden.
The Colonel and I have worked really hard on it this year.
Well, he really has.
I've just "directed" him.
I've shared pictures of him expanding it before.
You can read about them here.
I wanted very much to plant lettuce this year. I sent Sue an email asking her a question regarding lettuce and she so kindly answered me and offered to send me some seeds.
I never imagined the treasure that would arrive a few days later.
Can you believe she sent me all these seed packets?
I went right to work planting the seeds in the garden,
not really sure if they were going to come up!
Here are a few of the lettuces and my sugar snap peas planted at the back.
Here they are just a few days ago...
Another bed with more lettuce and green beans at the back...
This is what I picked the other day for dinner...
Our pumpkins a few days ago...
Can you see the one that has poked through the fence and is now in my zinnia garden?
We also have tomatoes, zucchini and cucumber plants.
The tomatoes have not enjoyed all the rain we have been receiving in the northeast.
But they are beginning to "dry" out and do some growing.
The same with the zucchini and cucumber plants.
I imagine I'll be picking some in a few weeks.
And a really SPECIAL "Thank You" to the Colonel who so lovingly says,
"YES" every time I ask.
Do you plant a garden? Have any pictures on your blog?
Leave me a comment, I'd love to come see your garden!

Your garden is doing really well.
I love the thought of picking fresh veggies.
My garden needs a good weeding after being gone a few days.
thanks for sharing.

Lois, what I wouldn't give to come eat a salad with you and just chat the afternoon away! You are the Proverbs 31 woman in action!

Morning Sunshine,
Your garden looks wonderful. the lettuce looks great, hope it taste better than the ones I grew
a few years ago. they looked great
but were bitter tasting.
Isn't it just so great to be able to go out and pick things from your yard, whether veggies or flowers.
Have a great day day hon,
Blessings, Nellie
Thanks for stopping by today.
Always good to hear from you.

Yr garden looks incredible. So neat and tidy. Yes, well, a COLONEL did it, so I guess it was just naturally going to be spic-n-span.
The plants seem to be obeying orders to GROW. Otherwise, yr hubby might have to courtmartial a zucchini. "I thought I told you to GROW! Climb up that string right this minute, you sorry excuse for a squash!"
Maybe you could spread some of yr green-thumb over the internet. Some of us need it. I have a single pickle plant in a pot, and it is in mighty bad shape. Your lettuce looks fantastic!!! So tender and healthy.

I don't have a garden, but I do love fresh vegetables! We usually plant tomatoes, squash, green beans....but this year, nothing!
Your garden looks great, and I know you are enjoying your harvest. Wish I lived close by for a sample! 🙂

wow that lettuce is doing so great I have a hard time with lettuce it just never grows right.
Our tomatoes are drying out to, they don;t like the chilly rain to much. but we have a lot of green ones so hopefully soon we will have some red ones.

Your garden looks like something out of a magazine!! Where are the weeds? I pick and pick but they thrive!
My lettuce went crazy...amazing that you had trouble finding the seeds, although it is weird that sometimes I can't find seeds either, like for spinach!
blessings,
