I love my garden.
The Colonel and I have worked really hard on it this year.
Well, he really has.
I've just "directed" him.
I've shared pictures of him expanding it before.
You can read about them here.
I wanted very much to plant lettuce this year. I sent Sue an email asking her a question regarding lettuce and she so kindly answered me and offered to send me some seeds.
I never imagined the treasure that would arrive a few days later.
Can you believe she sent me all these seed packets?
I went right to work planting the seeds in the garden,
not really sure if they were going to come up!
Here are a few of the lettuces and my sugar snap peas planted at the back.
Here they are just a few days ago...
Another bed with more lettuce and green beans at the back...
This is what I picked the other day for dinner...
Our pumpkins a few days ago...
Can you see the one that has poked through the fence and is now in my zinnia garden?
We also have tomatoes, zucchini and cucumber plants.
The tomatoes have not enjoyed all the rain we have been receiving in the northeast.
But they are beginning to "dry" out and do some growing.
The same with the zucchini and cucumber plants.
I imagine I'll be picking some in a few weeks.
And a really SPECIAL "Thank You" to the Colonel who so lovingly says,
"YES" every time I ask.
Do you plant a garden? Have any pictures on your blog?
Leave me a comment, I'd love to come see your garden!

It looks like your garden is doing beautifully. How nice to be eating fresh salad from your own garden. When I first read your post I was wondering to myself who Sue was. Then it hit me. Sue is a sweet and lovely lady and a blessing to everyone who knows her. How kind of her to send you seeds. I am not surprised though. That's Sue! Her farm is amazing and visiting her site makes you feel as though you've visited in person. Enjoy your harvest. Hugs, Loretta

You have so much more growing than I do. We use to have a large garden but have not in the past few yrs. Looks like you are going to "reap" the benefits of his hard labor, which is so nice.

Hi Lois,
I have been waiting to see your garden and my I am so impressed, what a beautiful job you all have done! My lettuce never looked as great as yours, now what is your secret?. I must show this to my hubby tonight.
I think for your reward that it's time for that potting shed that you have been dreaming about. LOL
I am so glad that the Colonel is back on his feet, and I know you all are as well.
You are so sweet to mention me on your blog and I most humbly thank you. If ever you need a certain veggie and can't find it let me know and I will see if I can find it. I have so looking forward to seeing them all as they mature.
Would you believe we are just planting our pumpkins today, just hope it isn't to late in the season.
Happy gardening!
Hugs,
Sue

Your garden looks so lush and yummy. Think of me when you are eating cucumbers, and tomatoes. Both are my favorites. No garden here, unless it is secretly growing in a box!

Wow, it looks great! That was nice of Sue! You do have quite the garden! It is rewarding you nicely now!
The only thing we have planted now(since the rabbits ate so much) is potatoes & beans. And that's thanks to my dad next door...it's Jason and my dad's garden really. I can't grow anything! 🙂
