Step 1: Mix the flour and Greek yogurt together.

Step 2: Once the dough comes together, turn out onto a floured or parchment lined surface.

Step 3: Cut the ball of dough into 4 even portions.

Step 4: Shape each ball of dough into a log that's 4-6 inches long.

Step 5: Make a circle out of the log and pinch the ends together to form the bagel shape.

Step 6: Make an egg wash by combining 1 egg with 1 tablespoon of water.

Step 7: Brush the egg wash on top of each bagel.

Step 8: Add your preferred seasonings.

Step 9: Cut a piece of parchment to fit inside your air fryer and gently place the bagels on top. Air fryers can brown unevenly, so flip the bagels halfway through cooking to ensure they're evenly golden on both sides.

Step 10: Air fry at 350°F for about 15 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.

Recipe Tips for Making Air Fryer Bagels with Greek Yogurt
Use thick Greek yogurt: Make sure to use plain, full-fat Greek yogurt—not regular yogurt. The thickness helps create a dough that’s easier to shape and bake.
Drain excess liquid: If your yogurt has any watery separation, drain it off before mixing. Too much moisture will make the dough sticky.
Don’t overwork the dough: Mix just until combined. Overmixing can make the bagels tough and harder to shape.
Flour your hands and surface: The dough can be sticky—lightly flouring your hands and work area makes shaping the bagels easier.
Use parchment paper in the air fryer basket: This prevents sticking and makes cleanup easier.
Brush with egg wash: For that golden brown, bakery-style finish, brush the tops of the bagels with an egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 tablespoon water) before air frying. This helps create a shiny, golden crust.
Customize toppings: Add everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, or cinnamon sugar to suit your taste before cooking.
Flip halfway if needed: Some air fryers may brown unevenly—flip the bagels halfway through cooking if necessary for even browning.

Double the recipe and get creative! This 2-ingredient dough isn't just for bagels. Transform it into flatbread, breadsticks, pizza crust, or even pretzel bites. The possibilities are endless!
You can make your own by mixing 1 cup of all-purpose flour with 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder and ¼ teaspoon of salt for every cup of self-rising flour needed.
While this recipe uses self-rising flour, it can’t be substituted with almond flour.
If you're looking for a gluten-free or low-carb option, you’ll need a different version of this recipe made with almond flour. Almond flour bagels are a great alternative, but they require different ingredients and measurements.
Storage and Freezing Tips
Refrigerator: Place the cooled bagels in an airtight container or a zip top bag. You can store bagels at room temperature for a couple of days, but to keep them fresh longer, refrigerate them for up to 5 days.
Freezer: Wrap the bagels in plastic wrap or aluminum foil tightly before putting them in a freezer safe zip top bag. Store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
How to Reheat Bagel in Air Fryer
Heat bagel halves in the air fryer at 350°F for 2–4 minutes (2 minutes for soft, 4 minutes for crisp); if frozen, heat for 4–5 minutes.

Ingredients
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1 egg plus 1 tablespoon water
- everything seasoning
- coarse salt
- Cinnamon Toast Crunch seasoning
Method
- In a bowl, combine the flour and Greek yogurt together using a wooden spoon.
- As soon as the dough comes together, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until the dough forms a ball.
- The dough is quite sticky, so make sure you flour your hands and the surface well. You may need to work extra flour into the dough to get it to come together.
- Cut the dough in half and then in half again until you have four even pieces.
- Shape each piece of dough into a long log about 4 to 6 inches long. Then make a circle pinching the ends together forming the bagel shape.
- Cut a piece of parchment paper to fit inside the air fryer basket.
- Gently lift the bagels and place them on top of the parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk 1 egg with 1 tablespoon of water until well combined. Using a pastry brush, gently coat each bagel with the egg wash.
- Generously sprinkle your favorite everything bagel seasoning over the bagels.
- Air fry at 350°F for 15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Keep a close eye on them, as cooking times can vary depending on your air fryer model.
- Remove from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Nutrition
Notes
- Use full-fat Greek yogurt for the best texture and flavor. Non-fat may make the dough too sticky.
- Flour your surface and hands lightly to prevent sticking while shaping the bagels.
- Add toppings! Brush bagels with a little egg wash and sprinkle with everything seasoning, sesame seeds, or cinnamon sugar before air frying.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer. Cook in batches if needed to ensure even air circulation and browning.
- Flip halfway if needed: Air fryers can brown unevenly, so flip the bagels halfway through cooking to ensure they're evenly golden on both sides. I did not need to do this for my bagels.
- Let them cool for a few minutes before slicing—they’ll firm up as they rest.

Jane says
In your recipe you say to use one egg with water then when you tell in putting the bagels together to use brunch on egg white yo finish , so is it a whole egg or just the egg white very confusing , use a egg wash , so which is it egg or egg white????
Lois says
Thanks so much for pointing this out as I can see how that was confusing!
For this recipe, you should use an egg wash made with 1 whole egg mixed with a little water and brush it over the bagels before baking.
I’ve updated the instructions to make this clearer. Thanks again for catching that!
