👩🍳How to make Cookies out of White Cake Mix
- Do not over-mix the batter.
- If the batter is too soft, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before placing on baking trays.
- Use silicon baking mats or parchment baking sheets on the baking trays to keep the cookies from sticking.
- The cookies will spread as they cook, so do not overcrowd the trays. I only added 6 scoops of cookie dough to each baking tray.
- Do not over-bake the cookies!

🥣Can I use butter instead of oil in cake cookies?
You can easily swap butter for oil in cake cookies. The addition of butter brings a delightful richness to the cookies and can be substituted in most oil-based recipes.
When making this substitution, simply melt the butter and use an equal amount as the specified quantity of oil. This simple swap can bring a scrumptious twist to your cookies!

💡Substitutions and Variations
- If you don't like almond extract, substitute it with vanilla extract.
- You can stir in any of the following into the cookie dough: chocolate chips, crushed peppermints, chopped walnuts or pecans.
- For this recipe, you'll also need white candy melts and Christmas sprinkles.
- Brand confectionery coating
Step-by-Step Directions
- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the vegetable oil with the white cake mix.
- Step 2: Mix in the eggs.
- Step 3: Blend the ingredients together until they form a thick dough. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky.
- Step 4: Use a cookie scoop to place the cookies on baking trays lined with parchment paper.
📌Should Cake Mix Cookie Dough be Chilled?
For the best results, I recommend refrigerating the cake mix cookie dough before baking. Chilled dough is easier to handle compared to room temperature dough. Cake mix cookies might be a bit stickier than regular cookie dough due to the added oil, so chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking.
Baking Instructions
- Step 5: The cookie might be a little stickier than traditional cookie dough, so take your time. Don't overcrowd the baking tray either.
- Step 6: Bake about 10-12 minutes, or until set in the middle and slightly browned around the edges. Allow the cookies to cool completely before decorating.
How to Decorate the Cookies
- Step 7: Melt the white candy melts according to the package directions.
- Step 8: Dip one half of the cooled cookie in the melted white chocolate and then immediately add the colorful Christmas sprinkles on top of the melted chocolate.

🍶Storage Tips

Snackelbox top handle, strong bearing capacity, easy to carry, can be placed flat in the container groove when not in use. Stackable, detachable, space saver. Side latches are easy to open, close
❄️Freezing Tips
- To freeze the cookies, simply place them in a single layer on a baking sheet and “flash freeze” them until they are solid, around 30 to 60 minutes.
- Then place the cookies in an air-tight container with parchment or waxed paper in between each layer to keep the cookies from sticking to each other.
- You can freeze the cookies this way for up to 3 months.
➡️Top Recipe Tip
- Chill the dough for about 30 minutes before scooping onto baking trays.
- Use a cookie scoop to evenly portion out the dough. Not sure which size cookie scoop to use? Grab my FREE Cookie Scoop Cheat Sheet!
You added too many eggs. When making cookies using a cake mix, do not follow the directions on the back of the box. Follow the directions listed below in the recipe card.
If you don't want to dip the cookies in melted white chocolate, you can easily stir in any of the following for a yummy cookie: chocolate chips, crushed peppermint candy canes, chopped walnuts or pecans. You could even form the cookies into balls and then roll the balls in sugar.
