2 Ingredient Bagels with Almond Flour
If you're looking for a gluten free or low carb option for bagels, you can try making my 2 ingredient bagels with almond flour instead.
These bagels are a great alternative for those on a special diet or looking to lower their carb intake. Plus, you can customize them by adding seasonings or toppings of your choice.
- Finely ground almond flour seamlessly blends into sweet and savory baked goods. Blanched almond flour & super finely ground for excellent baking performance
How to make bagels crispier?
- Adjust the boiling time: Boiling the bagels for a longer duration can result in a chewier and crispier crust. Some sources suggest boiling for around 90 seconds on each side. This helps to set the crust before baking.
- Use malt syrup or honey in the water bath: Adding malt syrup or honey to the boiling water can enhance the flavor and contribute to a crispy crust. Try using about 3 tablespoons of honey or malt syrup for a pot of boiling water.
- Use an egg wash: With this air fryer recipe, you can forego the water bath all together and brush the dough with an egg wash for a crispy browned bagel.
- Bake at a high temperature: A higher baking temperature can promote a crispier crust.

Substitutions and Variations
- If you don't have self-rising flour on hand, you can make it by combining 1 cup of plain flour with 2 teaspoons of baking powder.
- For an extra burst of flavor reminiscent of your favorite childhood cereal, try using Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnadust Seasoning on the bagels!
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Mix the flour and Greek yogurt together.
Step 2: Once the dough comes together, turn out onto a floured or parchment lined surface.
Expert Tip
The dough will have a sticky consistency. It's okay to add more flour as necessary until it forms a soft dough. Be careful not to over-mix the dough as this may result in a tougher texture.
Step 3: Cut the ball of dough into 4 even portions.
Step 4: Shape each ball of dough into a log that's 4-6 inches long.
Step 5: Make a circle out of the log and pinch the ends together to form the bagel shape.
Step 6: Make an egg wash by combining an egg with one teaspoon of water.
Step 7: Brush the egg wash on top of each bagel.
Step 8: Add your preferred seasonings.
Air Baking Instructions
Step 9: Cut a piece of parchment to fit inside your air fryer and gently place the bagels on top.
Step 2: Air fry at 350Β°F for about 15 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.

Can you make flatbread with greek yogurt?
Double the recipe and get creative! This 2-ingredient dough isn't just for bagels. Transform it into flatbread, breadsticks, pizza crust, or even pretzel bites. The possibilities are endless!
Storage, Freezing and Reheating Tips
Refrigerator: Allow the bagels to cool completely before storing to prevent them from becoming soggy from condensation. Place the bagels in an airtight container or a zip top bag.
They can be stored at room temperature for a couple of days, but if you want to keep them fresh for a longer period, refrigerate the bagels for up to 5 days.
Freezer: Wrap the bagels in plastic wrap or aluminum foil tightly before putting them in a freezer safe zip top bag. Store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
