Mason jar mixes last 3 to 6 months when stored in a cool, dry place with an airtight lid. For extended freshness, freeze the mix in a sealed container for up to 6 months and let it come to room temperature before use.
Muffins sink in the middle if they are underbaked, overmixed, or contain too much leavening. To prevent this, bake until fully set, mix the batter just until combined, and measure leavening agents carefully.
Storage Instructions
Refrigerate: Store the jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. A sealed jar helps maintain freshness for up to three months.
Freezer: You can freeze Homemade Muffin Mix in a Jar, for up to 6 months, but it's best to store it in an airtight, freezer-safe container rather than a glass jar to prevent breakage from temperature changes.
Thawing: Before using, let the mix come to room temperature to prevent condensation from affecting the texture.
