French Bread Pizza with Meat Sauce
When I need an easy recipe for dinner, I love making French bread pizza with meat sauce.
The other night I needed to put dinner together quick. I was out most of the day running errands and I didn’t want to go through a drive thru and bring dinner home. I really wanted to take the time to cook dinner.
Then I remembered I had a loaf of French bread waiting for me at home that I purchased from Walmart the day before for one dollar.
Yes, $1.00. Dinner was going to be quick and inexpensive using the loaf of French bread and some pantry stables that I always have on hand. French Bread Pizza with Meat Sauce was a meal that my family loved and is already asking for again!
Homemade Meat Sauce
But first I needed to make the meat sauce. I decided to keep it really simple and brown up some lean ground beef and then add a jar of my favorite marinara sauce.
Sometimes the easiest recipes are the ones your family requests over and over again. Who really can blame them especially when it’s something as delicious as pizza. I think my family can eat pizza a few nights a week and not complain. I know I can!
French Bread Pizza fresh from the oven! Doesn’t that look amazing? Add a salad and your quick and inexpensive meal is ready for the family to enjoy for dinner tonight!
Add a tossed side salad and dinner is ready! Your family is going to love this delicious meal!

Good Morning Lois! I just now found your site when I googled homemade garlic spread.
SOOOO glad I found you.
I was wondering what you thought it would be like to lightly use your garlic spread & LIGHTLY toast the french bread & then make the Frenchbread Pizza?
(And for family night I would use Panera Breads Asiago Cheese Bread!!!)
I think that sounds yummy! Let me know how it turns out. Thanks for visiting. Hope to see you again!
Hi Lois, love this. Would you like to share this with the other participants in Food on Friday over at Carole's Chatter? I have a weekly link up party – each week there is a different ingredient or theme. The current theme is Pizza!
You can see upcoming themes in one of the pages at the top of my home page. If you would like to join in the fun please schedule a reminder for each week. The collection starts at 7am Friday New Zealand time – which might be some time Thursday your time – I do find time zones quite confusing. Hope to see you soon. Cheers, Carole
