Recipe Notes
- For perfect truffle balls, crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs to get a smooth and consistent texture. You can use a food processor or place them in a sealed plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature which will make it easier to mix with the crushed cookie crumbs.
- Once you've mixed the crushed Oreos and cream cheese, pop the mixture in the fridge for around 30 minutes. Chilling it will make shaping the truffle balls a breeze and stop them from getting too soft.
- To make evenly-sized truffle balls, use a small cookie scoop or a spoon to scoop out the mixture. Then, roll each portion between your hands until smooth balls are formed.
- To make sure that your truffle balls hold their shape and don't fall apart when dipping them in melted chocolate, freeze them for at least 15-20 minutes beforehand.

Create a double boiler by placing a heat-proof bowl over a small pot of boiling water. The steam from the boiling water will gently melt the candy melts. Stir until smooth.
You don't have to refrigerate Oreo truffles if you're going to eat them right away. But if you're not serving them immediately, it's better to refrigerate them because of the cream cheese. Refrigerating keeps them fresh and avoids spoilage.
