👩🍳Recipe Notes
Slicing puff pastry perfectly every time might sound like something you don't need tips for, but if it's not done the correct way, the puff pastry will not puff up while baking.
The trick is to use a sharp knife and handle the dough carefully. Here are some tips to help you achieve perfect slices of puff pastry:
- Start by making sure that your puff pastry is defrosted, but cold when you slice it.
- Use a very sharp knife, a serrated knife or even a pizza cutter. All of these can give you neat edges without tearing the dough too much,

🥣Step-by-Step Instructions
Prepare the Puff Pastry
- Step 1: Unfold the puff pastry sheet on to a lightly floured surface, and press the creases out with a rolling pin. Cut the puff pastry into quarters. Then slice each quarter into thirds for 12 pieces. Finally, cut the pieces in half for a total of 24 pieces.
- Step 2: Spray the muffin pan with non-stick baking spray and put puff pastry squares into each well. Use a tart tamper to press each square into the wells.
Fill the Pizza Puffs
- Step 3: Combine the melted butter with the garlic powder and parsley. Use a pastry brush to brush the mixture over each square. Add half of the mozzarella to each square.
- Step 4: Spoon some pizza sauce on top of the cheese.
- Step 5: Add the remaining mozzarella and top with pepperoni slices.
📌Quick Tip: Be sure to re-chill the dough once the puffs are prepared so the pastry will puff up and get crispy, flaky layers.
Baking Instructions

- Place the muffin pan into the refrigerator to re-chill the dough before baking.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the puffs are golden brown.
