Ingredient Notes:
For this recipe, it's important to use the square waffle snap type pretzels for a few reason:
- Sturdiness: The waffle shape of the pretzel snap provides more surface area and stability, making it easier to balance the Rolo candy and preventing it from sinking or tipping over.
- Visual Appeal: The square shape resembles a reindeer's face more than a traditional round pretzel, adding to the overall cuteness of the treat.
- Even Melting: The flat surface of the square pretzel allows the Rolo to melt evenly in the oven.
Substitutions and Variations
If you'd like a version without caramel, you can use a Hershey Kiss instead of a Rolo like I did on my Reindeer Hershey Kiss Pretzels.
You can use waffle rounds, or pretzel snaps for the pretzel base.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and lay the pretzels in a single layer.
Kitchen Tool Spotlight
Line your baking sheets with parchment paper for perfect Christmas snacks every time. Not only will it make cleanup a breeze, but it also helps prevent sticking and ensures your treats bake evenly!
Baking Instructions
Step 2: Add the Rolos to each pretzel and bake for 2-3 minutes at 250°F just until the chocolate softens.
Step 3: Remove from the oven and place an M&M on each Rolo.
Quick Tip
Work quickly so you get the candies and sprinkles on the chocolate before it starts to set up.
Step 4: Add the sprinkles then allow the pretzel bites to set for about 20 minutes at room temperature or 10 minutes in the refrigerator.

The most popular snack to leave out for Santa is a plate of cookies and a glass of milk. In more recent years, children have been leaving out carrots or other types of snacks for the reindeer.
Santa may simply enjoy a warm mug of hot chocolate to help him warm up on a cold winter's night.
Storing Instructions
Room Temperature: Place the reindeer noses in an airtight container at room temperature. If you have multiple layers, place a sheet of wax paper or parchment paper between each layer to prevent sticking.
Refrigerator: If it's warm in your house or you live in a warmer climate, you might want to store the container in the refrigerator.
Freezer: I do not recommend freezing this snack. The pretzels will get slightly soft or stale after thawing.
