With only a few ingredients, you can be enjoying these treats in 20 minutes.

One of my favorite flavor combinations is sweet and salty. And I love chocolate covered pretzels. Which is probably why I have quite a few of recipes for them on my site.
They're a really easy dessert to make and can be adjusted to fit any holiday or birthday you're celebrating. Kids love helping you make these and giving them as gifts. You can easily wrap them up in cellophane bags and use the free printable gift tags below.
They make great gifts for neighbors, grandparents and especially school parties. But you'll have to check with your child's school to see if they're allowed to bring homemade treats in these days.

Main Ingredients Needed
This is an overview of the ingredients and instructions. Be sure to see the recipe card below for exact quantities, detailed instructions and special notes.
- Pretzel Rods - whenever I make chocolate covered pretzels, I use Utz brand.
- Chocolate Almond Bark - you can also use chocolate melting chips
- Candy Eyes
- Pretzel Twists - to make the antlers.
- Red M&M Candies

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 | Melt the Chocolate
- Begin by placing the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and place the bowl in the microwave using the low setting and starting out in 30 seconds intervals.
- Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the chocolate. One of the biggest mistakes people make with using the microwave is, they forget to stir the chocolate after each interval. Chocolate pieces can retain their shape until you stir them.
- If you don't stir, you risk burning the chocolate.
- Return the chocolate back to the microwave and repeat with another 10 to 15 seconds until the chocolate is completely melted.
- In just a few minutes you'll have perfectly beautiful melted chocolate for dipping.
Step 2 | Dip the Pretzels
- Once the chocolate is melted, add it to a tall drinking glass.
- Place one end of the pretzel in the glass and swirl it so part of the pretzel is covered in chocolate.
- Then add the nose and candy eyes.
- Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and allow the pretzels to harden and dry.

Step 3 | Make the Reindeer Antlers
- Take a knife and cut the pretzel twists up like you see in the photo below. These will become the antlers for the reindeer pretzels.
- Using a little bit of the melted chocolate, secure the antlers to the top and back of the dipped pretzel rods. Hold them in place for a few minutes until they adhere properly.

Storage Tips
- Place the chocolate dipped pretzels in an airtight container and store at room temperature.
- They should stay fresh for at least 3 weeks...if they last that long.
- These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.
Top Tip
Adding the melted chocolate to a tall glass really helps to dip the pretzels correctly.
