👩🍳Recipe Notes
Make sure the butter you use is at room temperature. This will help ensure it mixes and combines with the sugars properly.
Be careful not to overmix the ingredients. Overmixing the batter can result in tough, chewy cookies. Mix the ingredients until just combined.
Keep a close eye on the cookies while they are baking and remove them from the oven as soon as they start to turn golden brown around the edges. This will ensure that they stay moist and chewy.

📋Ingredients
This is an overview of the ingredients and instructions. Be sure to see the recipe card below for exact quantities, detailed instructions and special notes.
Substitutions and Variations
Chopped pecans or walnuts would be a great addition! You'll need about a cup.
Substitute the chocolate chips with other types of chips, such as white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, or peanut butter chips.
You can line the baking pan with parchment paper which will make it easier to remove the cookies from the pan.
🥣Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Start off by creaming the butter and sugars together.
Step 2: Add the vanilla and eggs and combine.
Step 3: Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the butter mixture until all combined.
Step 4: Reserve ¼ cup of the chocolate chips and stir in the rest.
⏲Baking Instructions
Step 5: On a baking sheet that's been sprayed with non-stick baking spray or lined with parchment paper, press the dough into an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
Step 6: Bake for 20-24 minutes until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack before cutting.
How to Slice Sheet Pan Cookies
Allow the cookies to cool completely in the pan before slicing. This helps the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from crumbling.
Use a sharp knife! A dull knife will only crush the cookies.
If you're having difficulty, try chilling the cookies in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour before slicing. This will make them firmer and easier to cut.
If you wanted to get even slices, use a ruler or a straight edge as a guide when cutting.

Storage Tips
Store cookies in an air-tight container for up to 5 days.
If you need to stack the bar cookies, layer them with parchment paper in between the layers.
Freezing Tips
Add cookies to an air-tight container or freezer bag and freeze for 2-3 months.
Don't forget to label and date the container!
Top Tip
Make sure the butter is soft so it incorporates well with the other ingredients.
Can I use parchment paper instead of greasing a cookie sheet?
Yes! Parchment paper makes for easy clean up, extends the life of your pans, and keeps cookies from sticking.
Do cookies take longer to bake on parchment paper?
No, bake the same amount of time as a greased pan. The parchment paper may help prevent over browning.
