Make sure you save and print out the recipe below!
- Chocolate Graham Crackers - you can also regular flavored graham crackers as well.
- Cool Whip Whipped Topping
Step-by-Step Directions:
Step 1: How to Break the Graham Crackers
- Break or cut the graham crackers into half. Who knew this could be a little challenging. By simply breaking the crackers along the perforated lines, the crackers would sometimes break.
- I found that using a bread knife or serrated knife on top of a cutting board worked best.
- Then spread about two tablespoons of the whipped topping on top of one cracker. Cover with another cracker to form a sandwich.
Step 2: How to Freeze the Sandwiches
Wrap them individually in plastic wrap then place in the freezer until frozen.
Graham Cracker Cool Whip Dessert Easy Tips and Ideas
- You can use either chocolate flavored graham crackers or regular flavored crackers.
- I find using a serrated knife helps to make sure the crackers break evenly along the perforated lines.
- I love to stir in a tablespoon or two of peanut butter into the whipped topping before spreading it on the crackers.
- It helps to "flash freeze" the sandwiches first on a baking tray in the freezer before wrapping in plastic wrap.
- Try different flavors of whipped topping! You can even add mini chocolate chips or sliced strawberries...the ideas are endless!
The next time you're craving something sweet, reach for one of your prepackaged "ice cream sandwiches" and enjoy! It really will satisfy you without all the calories.

Any idea if chocolate graham crackers are still being made and sold? The boxes have disappeared from the grocery stores near me (Kroger, Giant Eagle and Meijer) and there isn’t a shelf tag to show that they are just out of stock.
Thanks!
Lois says
I don't know, sorry! However, you can use regular graham crackers for this recipe as well. Thank you!
April says
OR dip the regular grahams in melted chocolate, freeze. THEN put the whoop in between them and freeze. Sounds like a tasty idea! ❤️
Ruth Ann says
These graham cracker frozen treats are the BEST!! We are full time RVers so don’t have much freezer space. No problem, I make a few squares at a time & put in plastic container to freeze. Such a nice treat when we stop.

how many freestyle points?
Lois says
I'm sorry. I no longer follow Weight Watchers, so I don't know how many points a serving of this recipe would be.
Sheila says
Each chocolate graham cracker square is 1 point and cool whip is 1 point for 2 tablespoons so each serving is 3 WW points.

I made these and they’re a hit in our house! Fyi I didn’t flash freeze them, nor wrap them individually in plastic wrap. Simply, I made each sandwich then placed them all in a large plastic container with a lid, then put them in the freezer. They store perfectly this way, and won’t fall apart by removing the plastic wrap. A quick, light and delicious treat to appease my sweet craving.
Lois says
I'm glad that worked for you! I did try that and found they all stuck together. But looks like you were successful!! Glad you enjoyed the treats. Thank you for visiting!

I had a recipe to use kool whip and yogurt on graham crackers. But I can't
remember the ratio. Anyone know?
Lois says
My recipe doesn't call for yogurt. This recipe is just for spreading Cool Whip on the graham crackers and freezing. Thank you for visiting.
