Recipe Notes
Try to use plump, juicy blackberries that are deep in color. When you muddle them, place the mint leaves in the bottom of the glass first. This way they won't be crushed too much.
Chill the sparkling water and lime juice before preparing it and don't forget the ice cubes!
Try serving the drink with fruit ice cubes! Fill them with a few blackberries and mint to add to glasses for a visually appealing twist.
How long should you let fruit infused in water?
Let the fruit infuse in the water for at least 2-4 hours in the refrigerator. For a stronger flavor, you can let it infuse overnight. However, for delicate fruits like berries, it's best to remove them after a few hours to prevent them from becoming too mushy.
Can I eat the fruit in my infused water?
You can eat the fruit, but it after soaking in water for an extended period, the fruit will lose much of its flavor, texture, and color.

Substitutions and Variations
Try using a different fruit if you don't like blackberries. Raspberries, blueberries, or strawberries can offer a similar sweetness and vibrant color.
If fresh berries aren't in season, frozen berries can be a convenient and budget-friendly alternative. Just thaw them slightly before using.
Try my Blueberry Infused Water for a slightly different fruit flavor!
You can also swap out the lime juice for fresh squeezed lemon juice.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Squeeze the limes using either an electric juicer or a handheld juicer.
Step 2: Add the fresh mint leaves to a tall pitcher.
Step 3: Then add the blackberries. Muddle both together.
Step 4: Add the sweetener. For this recipe I used agave. Chill the infused mixture in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and intensify.
Quick Tip
For this recipe, I use agave to sweeten the drink. However, if you prefer a sweeter drink, try adding honey or even a little sugar. Start with a small amount and taste as you go.
- Low glycemic, all-purpose sweetener made from the nectar of the Blue Agave plant
Step 5: Add the sparkling water. I used plain, but feel free to use a flavored sparkling water.
Step 6: Gently stir to combine everything.
Quick Tip
For a festive touch, dip the rims of the glasses in lime juice and then in a shallow dish of sugar before adding the beverage.
Step 7: Add a few extra blackberries and a lime wedge before serving.

Storage Instructions
Refrigerate: Remove the fruit and herbs from the water. You can discard them or save them for another use, like adding to smoothies or yogurt. Pour the infused water into an airtight container, such as a glass bottle or pitcher with a lid and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Freezer: If you have a lot of leftover infused water, you can freeze it in ice cube trays and use the cubes to chill future drinks.
➡️Top Recipe Tip
Make sure you muddle the blackberries and mint together gently. This releases the juices and oils from both ingredients, creating a more flavorful and aromatic drink.

This looks amazing, so refreshing. Here in the UK we don't really get fresh blackberries to forage until the autumn but I love the idea of freezing the infused liquid ready to make the following summer. Then I could just buy a small quantity of fresh blackberries in the shops a little earlier and enjoy this for a summer party. Lovely!
