How to Melt Chocolate
- Begin by placing the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and place the bowl in the microwave using the low setting and starting out in 30 seconds intervals.
- Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the chocolate. One of the biggest mistakes people make with using the microwave is, they forget to stir the chocolate after each interval. Chocolate pieces can retain their shape until you stir them.
- If you don't stir, you risk burning the chocolate.
- Return the chocolate back to the microwave and repeat with another 10 to 15 seconds until the chocolate is completely melted.
- In just a few minutes you'll have perfectly beautiful melted chocolate for dipping.

Substitutions and Variations
- Mini M&Ms - swap out the traditional sized M&Ms for the mini ones.
- Red Hots - you could use candy red hots in place of the M&Ms as well.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Melt the chocolate candy pieces according to the directions on the bag of the package or follow my tips listed above. (Reserve 6 of the candy melts for the reindeer's nose.)
Step 2: Dip one end of the lollipop stick in the melted chocolate.
Step 3: Insert it into the center of an Oreo cookie.
Step 4: You want to push it about halfway into the cookie.
Step 5: Dip the end of two pretzel sticks into the melted chocolate.
Step 6: Insert them into the top of the Oreo cookie at a slight angle for each “antler”.
Step 7: Next, dip the end of each pretzel "ear" into the chocolate and insert them into the Oreo cookie on each side of the “antlers”.
Step 8: Wait a few minutes for the pretzels to dry or set into the Oreo cookies.
Step 9: Holding the Oreo pop by the stick, use a spoon to spoon melted chocolate over the face of the reindeer.
Step 10: Then cover the ears in chocolate. Allow the excess chocolate to drain off and then place the reindeer pop on the wax paper.
Step 11: Place one of the reserved chocolate melts in the center of the Oreo for the nose. Add two candy eyes above the nose.
Step 12: Add a bit of melted to chocolate to the M side of a red M&M and place it in the center of the candy melt nose. Allow chocolate to dry before wrapping Oreo Reindeer Treats on a stick in treat bags. Tie the bags with a pretty ribbon and add a gift tag.
