Why do you use German Chocolate?
The combination of German chocolate and sweeteners makes for a uniquely rich taste that you won't be able to resist. If it's not available, try replacing with semi-sweet instead.
A few online recipes suggest adding 2 tablespoons of sugar to the chocolate if you use semi-sweet chocolate instead of the German to make up for the difference in sweetness and taste.

How do you make sure the chocolate doesn't burn?
To ensure that the chocolate does not burn, it's important to use a low and slow heat setting. Do not allow the temperature of the melted chocolate to exceed 115°F or it could burn or seize up.
Every single crock pot is different, so make sure you are paying attention to your chocolate as it melts. This recipe made in my crock pot took 2 hours.
Additionally, adding a pinch of salt to the melted chocolate can also help prevent burning by reducing its temperature slightly. If you follow these steps carefully, your chocolate clusters will turn out perfectly every time!

Ingredients
- 1 16 ounce jar salted peanuts
- 1 16 ounce jar unsalted peanuts
- 1 12 ounce bag white chocolate chips
- 1 12 ounce bag semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 8 ounce bar German chocolate broken into pieces
- holiday sprinkles
Method
- Place everything in a slow cooker except sprinkles and cook on low for 2 hours without removing the lid.
- Stir everything together and drop spoonfuls onto wax paper on a baking sheet.
- Sprinkle holiday sprinkles over top and allow to harden.
